Greg Laurie's Son Died In Car Accident

I am saddened this afternoon as I have heard that the son of Greg Laurie from Harvest Christian fellowship has died in a car accident. My prayers are with the family. My love goes out to you. At this time we need to remember God's word and a favorite verse comes to mind. "We are confident, yes, well pleased rather to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord" 2 Corinthians 5:8. We know he present with the Lord at this time.

WAKE UP ALL YOU WHO CALL YOURSELF CHRISTIAN!

We are so involved in this world that we don't see what is really going on. All of a sudden almost overnight we are facing rice rationing http://www.prophecynewswatch.com/April24/2411.html. Is your SUV, Starbucks coffee, and mansion really that important to you? Did you forget that you can't take any of it with you?

Why do we buy books? Most of us haven't even read through the one book we should, the Bible!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NizojZIX7Aw. We can read about why we are having this food shortage and know what will happen next. If you don't know where to find it then this is your opportunity to do the research. Look it up by going to www.bible.com. You can search the Bible right from this site so that you don't have the excuse "I don't have a Bible" or "I don't know where to find the verse".
“Preach the word of God. Be persistent, whether the time is favorable or not. Patiently correct, rebuke, and encourage your people with good teaching. For a time is coming when people will no longer listen to right teaching. They will follow their own desires and will look for teachers who will tell them whatever they want to hear.” (2 Timothy 4:2-3 NLT) (Reminds me of Oprah's movement).
We, as Christians, know most of our questions are answered in the Bible. As Pastor Jeff Lasseigne of http://www.harvest.org/ says If your questions are not answered or if you can't find the answer you just need to fall back on what you do know. All our questions will be answered in time. As Jeremiah 29:11 says "For I know the thoughts that I think towards you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end." So with this we can find comfort that when we ask the question "Why did my dad have to die?" and we don't find the answer in the Bible we can fall back on this verse. When my dad died I asked this question and I am now discovering the answer. It's too personal to blog it but I know that God is in control and He knows exactly what he is doing. Sometimes we don't like the way God does things but it is always for our good and for those around us, even if it brings us to our lowest point, even brings us to our knees (where we should be).

Delete Your Oprah Tivo Auto Recording

I had considered deleting my automatic recording of Oprah for the last year. About six months ago I started looking at what she was going to be talking about on that day's show and would delete it if I didn't want to give ratings to that particular show. About a month ago I decided to go ahead and finally stop Tivo-ing Oprah altogether. I HAVEN'T MISSED IT ONE BIT! Oprah started changing her shows some years ago to this New Age stuff. She did it very slowly. I guess she didn't want to scare anyone. Well, as a Christian, I have said enough is enough. I don't need Oprah, Dr Oz, Nate Berkas, etc. Now I just look at Oprah's shows as just plain weird. It seems like every show is a commercial for someone or something. It's time for a change, Oprah's rein is over!

Can YOU make money with a blog?

READ THIS ACTICLE FIRST http://www.ehow.com/how_2193091_work-home-internet.html Blogging has become a central pillar in the online world. Internet technologies come and go with increasing frequency but blogging has staked a claim and is here to stay. A variety of platforms allow people to start a blog in minutes and without a penny changing hands. In addition, countless other service providers have developed widgets that can enhance a blog with additional functionality and style. This article will look at a few of the basics so you can get off to a running start.
There are two decisions you need to make right at the beginning. The first is which platform you'll be using to build your blog and the second is whether you'll host it on the provider's servers or your own. Let's look at both decisions in a bit more detail.
The two primary platforms out there are Blogger and WordPress. Blogger is owned by Google and is probably the easiest platform to get started on. It's really designed for the novice. Functionality features are easy to use and the interface is simple and intuitive. WordPress is an open source platform. That means it's developed by individual programmers all over the world and is available for anyone to use, free of charge.
Open source software is a fascinating phenomenon. People with all kinds of different business objectives end up developing extensions to facilitate their needs and those extensions then become available to the entire community. As a result, you can search for just about any extension you can imagine and build your own custom blog with precisely the features you want. WordPress is designed for a more sophisticated user but the advantages for the final product are substantial.
The next decision revolves around where you host your new blog. You can host it on the Blogger platform or the WordPress platform. In both cases, you would end up with a URL something like YourBlog.Blogger.com rather than your own custom URL. The upside is that it's easier and your blog will then be part of a HUGE website. That may improve your search engine ranking. The downside is that the ultimate control is out of your hands and your branding isn't complete. In other words, you will never have your own free-standing web address.
Once you have created your new blog, you're well advised to register it with all the free blog directories. Not surprisingly, there are dozens of them and they can help you drive traffic. You can also cross reference other people's comments, leaving them with a free banklink. That will help you get established in the community and encourage others to reference your comments on their blog. Depending on the blog, you could easily get the majority of your traffic from such a link.
A number of companies have developed platforms that add functionality or aggregate information and their widgets can easily be added to a blog, simply by adding a small piece of java script to your platform. This has become so common that Blogger, WordPress and others have designed specific modules to easily accept such scripts. Done properly, these widgets can make a simple blog look impressive and professional.

For My Daughter, Brittney!

RAIN, RAIN, AND MORE RAIN!

It's supposed to start raining here in about 2 hours and it won't stop for 2 days. I live in Southern California so rain is as rare as a cheap place to live here. I love rain. We have had more rainy days since Christmas than I can recall in the past. I have seen 6 rainbows in the last 3 weeks. Including 1 double rainbow.

Savannah is playing with her play dough on the kitchen counter and she put the dog on the counter to watch her. It's really cute but on the counter of all places.

Elijah and Alex went to see Monster Trucks, ewww, ahhh, oooo, get real, boys are such boys! But we still love 'em.

Brittney is supposedly watching a movie and doing her homework at school but I thinks she forgets I used to be 18 years old. It's Saturday evening Brittney, but I STILL believe you(wink, wink).

I have been studying the book of 2 Thessalonians. I was reading chapter 2 and I have always misinterpreted verse 3. I always thought "falling away" (3-Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;)meant that there would be a lot of people that fall from the faith but in researching it in its original language it actually means "departure". So now I understand the verse to mean that the "departure", or the rapture, will come before the Anti-Christ is reveled. The critics have always said they would believe the Bible when Noah's Ark and Nehemiah's wall were found. Well both have been found yet none are stepping forward to accept it. There isn't much time left. When do they plan on stepping forward? Tomorrow? What if the "departure" comes tonight?

Heath Ledger, Brittney Spears, Mary Kate Olsen, Johnny Depp

Does anyone else think it's crazy how actors and actresses are followed with cameras until they go crazy? I know I would go crazy if someone followed me and commented on my every move. It should be illegal. It seems to be an invasion of privacy and freedom. Even though they have chosen to be in the spotlight they should still be allowed to live normal lives. I think the main problem is that people idolize these PEOPLE. They seems to seek after actors, actresses, singers, etc. more than they seek after God. I think some actors/actresses are a bit weird but they have probably had strange lives that lead up to the weirdness. I often find myself praying for them.

Conserve Your Energy!

We are all looking at the news and even the most optimistic of us are realizing that things may change for a while. We've been here before, we've seen the rising prices, the unemployment and the foreclosures - but for many of us the problem becomes more individualized. What can we do to preserve ourselves; to keep the roof over our own heads?
Home energy costs are a large monthly outlay for all of us at this time of year. Americans spend more than $160 billion a year to heat, cool, light, and live in our homes. This is about 21 percent of the national total and many households could save 20-30 percent on their household energy bills.
Small savings may seem futile when we consider the big picture, but many little savings will actually lower your bills. Things may be falling down around you, but you will know that you are actively taking control of your own expenditures. So let us look at some small energy savers.
Do you feel a draft coming from below or around your external doors? Have you got weather stripping around your door? The type you screw into the frame is best, but you can buy the self adhesive type if you are not handy. Attach the overhead horizontal piece before the two sidebars.
Lower your thermostat by 5 degrees as you go to bed or if you go out and no-one will be at home. Change the filter on your furnace to allow more efficient running. Old-fashioned light bulbs are more expensive than fluorescent lights. Buy several of the energy efficient fluorescent light bulbs when they come on sale. Change them immediately but keep the old ones for spares.
Switch off lights when you are not in the room. In spite of a generalized public opinion that it is cheaper to leave a light bulb on rather than switching it on and off, it fact, it is not. Another surprising energy waste is when we leave our TVs, computer, etc on standby overnight. It is using power.
Use plastic window coverings to prevent heat loss. You can buy a type of 'cling film' for windows that will act like double glazing. You may not like this on your living room windows, but apply it where you can. It does not go straight onto the glass; attach a double sided sticky tape around the frame, then stick the plastic film to this. The small air pocket between the glass and the plastic film acts like a double glazing unit.
On sunny days let the sunshine warm up your home. At night close all blinds and drapes. Try closing heavy velvet curtains across your screen doors at night. Glass radiates in a lot of coldness!
Crude oil has finally hit the $100.00 per barrel mark, and soon we will be paying $4.00 per gallon for gas. Never mind cutting down for the environment - now is the time to cut down for your own sake; it must be time to tighten our belts.
